Troop 81 Schedule for rest of 2018
Congratulations to all the Scouts who spent last week at Camp Rainey Mountain. Despite some stitches and a sprained ankle, all the Scouts had a great time. Thanks to Scoutmaster Eddie and Mr Ron for accompanying our young scouts.
To rest and recover, there will be no meeting Monday July 16. Meetings will resume Monday July 23.
Schedule for the Rest of the Year. Please put these dates on your calendar so our Scouts can plan to attend as many overnight campouts as possible. Often, the Scouts wait to the last meeting before an outing to check if they can attend. This makes planning difficult and often creates scheduling conflicts that occur from a lack of planning.
August 18-19 Mocassin Creek Falls and Trail. Primitive camp near Trailhead. Short hike up Mocassin Creek, swim and play in waterfalls.
September 8-9 Conyers International Horse park. Camp in Special Scouts only section adjacent to wilderness area. Mountain Bike, Kayak and canoe fun.
October 13 Troop 81 Annual Chicken BBQ- our only fundraiser of the year.
November 9-11 Sweetwater Camporee verses Troop 81 Campout
December 7-9 Yule Log Camporee- Biggest Event of the year with combined districts competing for top honors in tradition Scout Skills events
December 10 End of Year Court of Honor- Pot luck dinner and awards ceremony recognizing all the achievements and rank advancements of the last year. Slide show allows remembrance of all the great experiences and fun from the past year.

Camping at Hartwell was a great success. The scouts passed their swim tests and are ready for summer camp. All enjoyed swimming and tubing on the ski boat we had up for the weekend. Congratulations to Camden who waterskied for the first time!
All Scouts remember summertime is a great time to work on advancements. Make best use of the calm summertime to begin projects or finish requirement. Please bring your books to meetings and activities. It is difficult to run a troop if our attendance is so sporadic.
Summer camp approaches! July 8-14 Camp Rainey Mountain. The next few meetings will focus on getting ready summer camp. Adopting a new patrol name, planning our entrance gate, developing packing list for troop and personal. Please bring signed physical forms including copies of insurance card to the next meetings.
