Troop 81 Chicken BBQ is here!

This a big fundraiser for the troop and even though we have been talking about this for months, only 6 scouts signed up for shifts to help with this event. We cannot offer a successful troop if the boys are not willing to step up and contribute their time and effort. The first shift is 5am  for those cooking the chicken. We need more scouts at 10am to package and distribute to dinners. The early birds should wear class B uniforms, the later 10am shift should wear class A uniforms. We should be done by 1:30 to 2:00pm. Thank you for all who sold tickets, donated supplies  and special thanks to Eddie Partain in his lead in organizing this event.

Next Outing
Sweetwater Fall Camporee
November 4-6 Scoutland

We only have one meeting for this event October 24 as there is no meeting on October 31 Halloween.
The theme is Scottish games. We need scouts who are planning to go on this event to bring $10 for registration. A least have them know whether they can attend. We've had difficulty getting comittments on activities which makes meal planning and transportation needs difficult to determine. With the calendar posted months in advance, the scouts are expected to know if they can attend any particular function. Scouting is an outdoor program and they are shortchanging themselves if they are not taking advantage of the leadership and skills that can only be obtained in the outdoors.

BBQ Chicken Tickets
Please turn in any late sales to Eddie Partain to make sure we have enough chicken for everyone. Thank you for all the scouts and adults who have worked to make this event a sucessful one. To help offset some of our overhead costs, we're asking for donations of either Little Debbie Treats for the Dinners or a 10 lb bag of charcol. Please bring donations to the next scout meeting on October 17.
Eddie has already obtained several donations for sauce and other materials.
NO Meeting on October 10 due to Columbus Day.
